AnimeEnigma

An anime streaming platform for watching anime online with a large content library.

  • PostgreSQL

Task

The client wanted to launch a streaming service with a large library that wouldn't fall over as the audience grew. Up front we mapped the usage scenarios, the expected load, and the requirements for a comfortable viewing experience. We fixed the area of responsibility and the priority — stability under load and a smooth player.

Solution

As part of a team, I helped build the platform on Next.js with PostgreSQL. I owned the viewing interface and behavior under load: we designed the catalog structure, thought through content delivery, and optimized bottlenecks. We regularly tested across devices and scenarios before shipping.

Result

The service runs stably under load and serves a large content library smoothly. Playback stays fluid and the catalog stays responsive even under active traffic.

Approach & decisions

The key decisions concerned catalog stability and playback smoothness as the user count grew. We worked through caching and careful data handling so heavy lists and title pages stayed fast. We tested behavior on slow connections and varied screens so the viewing experience stayed even.

How we ran the project

  • 01

    Discussion & requirements

We get on a call with the client, map the goals, audience and constraints, and fix the scope of work.

  • 02

    Planning

We work out the structure, user scenarios and architecture, and choose technologies that fit the task.

  • 03

    Prototype in code

We build a working prototype directly in code and align the interface on a live version — not on static mockups.

  • 04

    Development

We write code in iterations, show progress regularly and keep the client in the loop.

  • 05

    Testing & launch

We test across devices and scenarios, then roll out to production.

  • 06

    Support & growth

We stay in touch, maintain the product and keep developing it further.

    2026

The club now has a single digital layer around its existing CRM: guests see the schedule and book from the website, members fill in the form, check in and track their membership from their phone, coaches mark attendance, admins see analytics and publish news, and competitions are scored automatically. Everything works in three languages and runs on the club's own server in Kazakhstan.
